Bearly A Poem

I met a bear
One time,
Face to face.
On a cold, dark night
Trying to share the same space.
He glared at me
Eyes full of hate,
I settled my cheek
Into my .308.
He growled at me,
I wet my pants,
Slipped in the urine
And, just by chance,
Jerked the trigger
On the way down.
The copper jacket
Wiped off his frown,
Scrambled his brain,
Put out his lights.
I claimed his pelt,
It was mine, by rights.
